The History of the Three Rivers Recreational Area
Three Rivers became a platted subdivision 40 years ago with approximately 4,000 total acres. There are 626 actual parcels of land ranging from 1/2 acre to 10 acres and everything in between. Some have mountain views, some have canyon views, and some with lake views. We still have bare land available as well as campsites and million dollar homes that are totally self-sufficient.
Even though we are surrounded by BLM, National Grasslands, the Warm Springs Indian Reservation and it seems a million miles from the hustle and bustle, we are only 40 minutes from Madras AND Sisters. There are also approximately 80 full-time residents---and that number is growing every year. As people realize that they can accomplish "telecommuting" from their office right here in paradise, they are choosing to be away from the noise of the city and closer to nature!
The Area is a gated community for security and privacy purposes with a full-time gate keeper. There are approximately 40 miles of roads which are completely paved (except for the "common areas" which afford motorcycle/ATV riding all winter and part of the summer). From the front gate to the Lake is about 6 miles where you will find the private marina with numerous amenities, ie:
4 Boat launches
Marina store with propane and marine gas for sale
Boat docks to rent for seasonal mooring
Boat trailer parking
Enclosed swim area for child security with a swim platform
Acres of private beach with picnic tables
The "Rec Hall" for our public functions (can be rented for private
celbrations as well)
Paved basketball area with regulation hoop
Plenty of day-use vehicle parking
In addition to the marina area, Three Rivers has numerous year round activities which include:
Paved private airstrip
9 hole "desert course" PLUS 18 hole disc course
Approximately 2,000 acres of "common area"
Motorcycle/ATV trails (available ALL winter and part of the
summer time---excluded during fire season
Nature watching of deer, wild turkeys, coyotes, and eagle---
both bald & golden
Millions and millions of stars
Three Rivers is also "off-the-grid"---we do not have PP&L nor any power lines. With solar energy and other alternative energy options in such demand and supported by government tax credits, it is very easy to "GO GREEN" and install systems to power your camper/trailer/cabin/home. You can also supplement with generators, candles, and lanterns. Our phone service is cellular and water is available from a commercial well on the property which is delivered to your site and then stored in your cistern.
This piece of paradise in Central Oregon is truly a unique opportunity to enjoy life, recreation and your family in an atmosphere that is close to nature.
